Summer day camp on Mount Royal, the CBC/Radio-Canada antenna, supervision of picnic grounds, biodiversity in the city, pedal boats, the terrace and photos - and more!
As well as being the headquarters of Les amis de la montagne, the Smith House is your entry point to parc du Mont-Royal. A heritage building constructed in 1858, the Smith House has become an education, exchange and cooperation centre devoted to the conservation of Mount Royal’s environment.
Visitors can take advantage of a reception service open year-round at the Smith House for information about Mount Royal, as well as Les amis' activities and services. The public is invited to share observations, comments, or suggestions. Call us at 514 843-8240, ext. 0.
Visitors can find original souvenirs and all the equipment they need for bird watching, or identifying plants or rocks at the nature-boutique, which focuses on Mount Royal. The nature-boutique also features maps of Mount Royal, interpretation brochures and books.
The Café Smith, located on the main floor of Smith House, is the ideal place for a wholesome lunch or snack in convivial surroundings: sandwiches, hot meals, hot and cold beverages, beer and wine, as well as sweet treats and our famous organic fair-trade hot chocolate. An outdoor terrace is open from mid-May to mid-October.
A permanent exhibition entitled Monte Real, Monreale, Mont Royal, Montréal is situated on the main floor. Admission is free and the exhibit traces the history, natural environment and associated conservation issues concerning Mount Royal.
Finally, Smith House has a number of meeting rooms available for a variety of activities, such as school group gatherings, talks, conferences, workshops and receptions. For room rental information, call us at 514 843-8240, ext. 235.
For Smith House opening hours, please consult the calendar of events.
