As well as being the headquarters of Les amis de la montagne, Smith House is the entry point to Mount Royal Park. A heritage building constructed in 1858, Smith House has become an education, exchange and cooperation centre devoted to the conservation of Mount Royal’s environment.
Open year-round, visitors can take advantage of a reception service in the boutique for information about activities and services offered in Mount Royal Park. The public is invited to share observations, comments, or suggestions. Contact us: 514 843-8240, ext. 0 or email@example.com.
The nature-boutique dedicated to Mount Royal offers original souvenirs, specialised publications, maps and cards, seasonal clothing and accesories, as well as a selection of toys and educative books for children.
The Café des Amis offers hot meals and home-made soups, grilled sandwiches, deserts and cupcakes, beer and wine, as well as comforting hot beverages (Santropol coffees, organic and fair trade Camino hot chocolates and Camélia Sinensis teas). Breakfast is now served every morning until 11 a.m. An outdoor terrace is open from mid-May to mid-October.
The permanent exhibition: Mount Royal, A Territory to Discover, is accessible free of charge. The exhibit traces the history, natural environment and associated conservation issues concerning Mount Royal.

Smith House is a public building owned by the Ville de Montréal, managed and occupied by Les amis de la montagne. A heritage building constructed in 1858, the house is located in the heart of Mount Royal Park, halfway between the Beaver Lake Pavilion and the Chalet du Mont-Royal. On the first floor, two freshly renovated rooms are available to rent for various events. All revenues derived from room rentals are reinvested in activities and conservation projects organized on the mountain by Les amis de la montagne.

*Please note that rooms are located on the first floor with adjacent washrooms and there is no elevator. There is no air conditioning but rooms are well ventilated with large windows. No Internet connection.
