Jeffrey Drummond (pictured at left) has been a long time admirer and supporter of Mont Royal. He has been involved with Les amis de la montagne for numerous years, particularly in the organization of the Tuques Bleues Celebration, Les amis’ signature fundraising event. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors of Les amis.

Until recently, Mr. Drummond held the position of Executive Director, Mergers and Acquisitions at Scotia Capital Inc. He has just been appointed the Chief Financial Officer of Revision Military Inc., a company that develops and distributes specialized military protection equipment worldwide, of which he is one of the founding shareholders.

In addition to his commitment with Les amis, Mr. Drummond is also involved with the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Les amis de la montagne has similarly benefited from the expertise and commitment of Robert Fortier (pictured at right) for several years as a member of the organization’s Finance Committee and Campaign Cabinet.

Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Astral Media, Mr. Fortier joined the corporate finance team in 2005. Previously, he worked for 10 years at Microcell Telecommunications Inc. (which operated under the Fido brand), among others.

In addition to his commitment with Les amis, Mr. Fortier is involved with the Cancer Research Society.

As a senior executive and Montrealer, Mr. La Flèche provided an eloquent testimonial concerning the importance of Mont Royal in the lives of Montrealers and our collective quality of life. The involvement of the Montreal business community and citizens is critical to Les amis de la montagne’s success in carrying out its mission to protect and enhance Mont Royal.

225 participants drive a 6th successful “TD Green Sunday”

Les amis de la montagne congratulate the employees and officers of the TD Bank Group for their continued community involvement and environmental contribution towards the health of the mountain’s biodiversity. Nearly 225 TD employees, accompanied by their families and friends, planted 450 indigenous trees and shrubs in the summit area of the mountain on May 27 last, in addition to cutting down Common Buckthorn, an invasive shrub native to Europe that overtakes the forest undergrowth, and picking up garbage in the summit area and near the Rue Peel entrance to Mont-Royal Park.

In the last 6 years, almost 4,000 trees and shrubs have been planted by employees from the TD Bank Group!

TD Green Sunday is organized by Les amis de la montagne and the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, in collaboration with the Ville de Montréal.

Take action: Mont Royal, at the heart of the Montreal community

Éric R. La Flèche, honorary patron of the Mount Royal Circle Breakfast held last May said it best when he described Mont Royal as being at the heart of Montrealers’ collective quality of life. And Montrealers contribute to bringing the mountain to life by enjoying it for the natural playground it is, a unique oasis in all of North America! To continue appreciating the mountain, we need to protect it and make it accessible.

Les amis de la montagne call upon your generosity: please support our initiatives that will ensure the mountain’s health and beauty for future generations by making your donation today.
