The new Mayor of Montreal, Denis Coderre, has personally taken on the Mount Royal dossier, a role that was previously held by a designated member of the Executive Committee also responsible for sustainable development, the environment, large parks and green spaces.

Denis Coderre will be supported by his former adversary in the mayoralty race, Marcel Côté, who has been hired to advise Chair of the Executive Committee Pierre Desrochers, on matters related to finance, major projects and property assessment. He accepted this role in exchange for a symbolic salary of $1 per year. Marcel Côté is a member of Les amis de la montagne’s Board of Directors and was an important contributor in the organization of the Mount Royal Summit 2013; his knowledge of the protection and enhancement of the mountain is an important asset for Montreal.

In other dossiers, Réal Ménard is responsible for sustainable development, the environment, large parks and green spaces, Russell Copeman for urban planning and the Office de consultation publique de Montréal and Manon Gauthier for culture and heritage.
