Les Tuques Bleues: Only three weeks before Les amis de la montagne’s signature benefit event!

Les amis de la montagne invite all snowshoers to their benefit event on Thursday, February 20, on Mount Royal!

Under the honorary co-chairmanship of Robert Tellier, Regional Vice President, Group Retirement Solutions and Group Benefits, Manulife Financial, and Michel Leblanc, President & CEO, Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, this night-time adventure that combines a sporting tradition with gastronomy, is organized by Les amis de la montagne in support of educational and conservation programs on Mount Royal, as part of the opening night of Montréal en lumière.

Manulife Financial is very proud to join Les amis de la montagne for a 5th consecutive year as principal partner of the Tuques Bleues benefit event. Manulife’s participation demonstrates the company’s interest in ensuring the perpetuity of Mount Royal, the jewel of Montreal, and in supporting an organization that promotes and develops volunteerism through a variety of activities to carry out its mission,” said co-chair Robert Tellier.

Montrealers can register now for the Tuques Bleues benefit event or make a donation to Les amis de la montagne via the following website: lestuquesbleues.eventbrite.ca. For each $250 ticket, which includes a blue toque, gastronomic buffet and snowshoe rental (limited quantities available, bring your own!), a tax receipt for the gift portion of $125 will be provided.

During the evening, participants will be immersed in the absurd and comical world of the Montreal circus collective, Les 7 doigts de la main, with surprise performances and a DJ to animate the celebration and warm up the atmosphere. A medal and trophy ceremony will also be featured to reward the winners of the snowshoe race.

The snowshoers will travel through the forest along an enchanting 2.5 km trail to the summit of the mountain, around the cross, beautifully illuminated at night. Whether participants choose to race or walk along the trail, all will be rewarded by a magnificent celebration at the Chalet du Mont-Royal. This year, snowshoes are provided once again by Tubbs Snowshoes and Atlas Snowshoes.

La Guilde Culinaire will prepare a tantalizing buffet featuring local produce, with a variety of excellent products from Gattuso and Domaine Pinnacle, among other partners of the event.

Les amis de la montagne wish to thank their major partners for their ongoing commitment and support of the event: principal partner in the Gold category, Manulife Financial, and privileged partners since the very first edition, Tubbs Snowshoes and Atlas Snowshoes.

Les amis de la montagne also wish to thank their sponsors in the Bronze category: TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, Velan Inc. and GE Capital; their sponsors of products and services: Montréal en lumière, Ville de Montréal, Domaine Pinnacle, Location Hewitt Inc., 2e Régiment de l’Artillerie du Canada, C4 Communications, Fairmont Le Reine Elizabeth, Pâtisserie Wawel, Fromages Biobio and Grok from Gattuso and La Guilde Culinaire; and finally, their media partners: CJAD 800 AM, CHOM 97.7 FM, Rouge 107,3 FM and La Presse+.
