Discover the greatest opera arias performed by the most promising young singers in the world!
Opera lovers, the next musical Sunday at the Chalet du Mont-Royal is for you! The next concert of this free series continues on Sunday, August 10, at 3 p.m. The Canadian Vocal Arts Institute will feature promising young singers who, in just a few years, will likely perform in the greatest opera houses of the world! Various small ensembles will perform popular opera arias and other melodies with piano accompaniment, staged with fun and creativity, under the artistic direction of Joan Dornemann.
This concert is produced in collaboration with The Canadian Vocal Arts Institute that organizes an intensive program for young opera singers every summer at the Université de Montréal, to help improve their voices and their stage presence with some of the world’s leading teachers.
Come encourage our promising youth! This series of concerts aims to promote the talent of young students hailing from musical institutions on the flanks of the mountain and wishes to re-establish the musical tradition of this exceptional site.
Following the concert, Les amis de la montagne will provide a guided visit of the Chalet (in English and in French), relating its history, architecture and decorative paintings.
Produced by Les amis de la montagne jointly with the Ville de Montréal, the concert series is also made possible thanks to the support of the TD Bank, principal partner, and Journal Métro, media partner.
