An Eclectic Third Season!
For a third consecutive year, Les amis de la montagne invite Mount Royal walkers and music lovers alike to enjoy a delightful series of musical Sunday afternoons. Songs, famous classical airs, flamenco and jazz rhythms, the vibrant melodic sweeps of string ensembles and recorders... From one free concert to the next, presented monthly from May through to October in the stunning surroundings of the Mount Royal Chalet, the 2015 season will span a variety of musical genres.
Entitled Les dimanches en musique au Chalet du Mont-Royal, the series will be launched on May 3, at 2 pm, right after the closing ceremony of our annual Mountain Clean-Up, with Salut Printemps !, a concert by Les Muses Chorale, a McGill University women’s choir under the artistic direction of Xavier Brossard-Ménard.
Keeping the great musical tradition of this Beaux Arts style chalet alive, Les dimanches en musique au Chalet du Mont-Royal shine a light on the talent of young musicians trained for the most part in musical institutions established on the mountain. After each concert, members of the public are invited to discover the Mount Royal Chalet – its history, architecture and paintings – in a guided tour offered by Les Amis de la montagne.
This series of concerts is designed and produced by Les amis de la montagne, with the collaboration of the Ville de Montréal. It was made possible thanks to the support of TD Bank Group.
Admission is free. No reservations required.
