Wear your Finest Hat for a Great Cause, from Central Park to Mount Royal Chalet!

2016-06-02

For a third consecutive year, Les amis de la montagne invite you to Chapeau mont Royal, a sophisticated gourmet benefit luncheon in support of educational and conservation programmes on Mount Royal.

The inspiration for this gastronomic feast attended by guests sporting their most beautiful hat comes directly from New York. Indeed, the Frederic Law Olmsted Luncheon has been held in Central Park for over thirty years, honouring this great landscape architect, known for the design of many urban parks, including Central Park (New York) and, closer to home, Mount Royal Park. The first edition of the social event was created to pay tribute to the Women’s Committee of the Central Park Conservancy, a citizen’sgroup dedicated to the conservation of Central Park since 1980.

Les amis de la montagne invite you to join us on the Mount Royal Park Lookout to share a delicious meal catered by the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in the company of other committed people united for the same cause: the sustainability of Mount Royal. This elegant red carpet fundraiser  is expected to draw together over  450 guests for a  photo session and a cocktail on the Lookout, followed by a gourmet gathering and surprise gifts in the majestic Mount Royal Chalet.

A dedicated Honorary President and committee

This year, Chapeau mont Royal is chaired by Caroline Codsi, Senior Vice-President and General Manager, Eastern Canada, Cira Medical Services and Founding President, La Gouvernance au Féminin.

“Born in Beirut, I didn’t have access to such beautiful green spaces, but I was able to offer this opportunity to my children thanks to Mount Royal, this jewel in the heart of our city. It brings joy to all generations but we still take it for granted. This is the reason why it is so important for me to defend noble causes such as Les amis de la montagne’s, and it is with pleasure and pride that I accepted the invitation to chair the 3rd edition of Chapeau mont Royal”, said Caroline Codsi.

The event enjoys the unfailing support of dedicated committee members, co-chaired year after year by four women who hold Mount Royal dear to their hearts: Les amis de la montagne governors Mary Bruns Creighton, Judith Kavanagh, Carole Labelle Molson and Kathryn Lund Drummond. Chapeau mont Royal also benefits from the vital support of the honorary presidents of previous years, Julie Godin, Executive Vice-President, Human Resources and Strategic Planning, CGI (2014), and Françoise F. Lyon, Senior Vice-President, Pembroke Private Wealth Management (2015).

Tickets are available online at the cost of $250 per person, entitled to a receipt for income tax purposes of $125. Visit chapeaumontroyal.com for details about the event. Take a look at the video and the photo gallery of the 2015 edition of Chapeau mont Royal.
