Volunteer Some Time for the Environmental Conservation of the Mountain!

2017-06-05

Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.until the end of October, Les amis de la montagne invites you to volunteer with its Environmental Stewardship Program, dedicated to conservation work on Mount Royal.

Activities vary from week to week, allowing Montrealers to make a hands-on contribution to the protection of their mountain’s natural habitat.

Environmental stewardship activities are supervised by professionals and conform to a scientific, research-based process aimed at increasing knowledge about the natural environment and developing effective methods of preserving it. As a volunteer, you will monitor tree growth, help control invasive exotic shrub and tree species, plant indigenous tree species, and much more.

In addition to contributing directly to the quality of Mount Royal’s natural habitat, the program allows you to take in the park’s exquisite beauty, discover the mountain’s best kept secrets with qualified guides, and enjoy the company of like-minded volunteers.

How to Participate in Les amis’ Environmental Stewardship Program?

You are welcome to join us on a one-off basis, during your holidays, or every Saturday! You can make a last-minute decision to come based on the weather forecast, or recruit family members (12 years of age and older) to help and make it a day of it on the mountain…. Possibilities are almost limitless! Registration is free, without obligation to attend, and will enable you to receive information about upcoming stewardship activities and meeting points.
