Close to 30 years ago, a small group of Montrealers started Les amis de la montagne because they saw a need. They knew that without education, awareness-raising and meaningful dialogue between citizens and decision-makers, Mount Royal as we know it could become a faded memory.

Today, Les amis de la montagne provides education and conservation programs on Mount Royal, and obtains philanthropic support for critical improvement projects on behalf of all mountain users.

But that’s not all. Tackling the big protection dossiers is what Les amis de la montagne do best, finding the strategies that balance accessibility and preservation that we benefit from the most.

We need your support. We need to raise $850,000 to move Les amis’ programs forward, and to pursue advocacy efforts for the year ahead.
