25TH ANNIVERSARY CAMPAIGN: LEADERSHIP TO MOVE PEOPLE - AND MOUNTAINS

Thanks to the loyal support of the Montreal community, Les amis de la montagne are celebrating 25 years of leadership and service to the mountain cause, and we’re still going strong!

Founded in 1986 as a citizen-based organization to defend Mount Royal against the reckless construction of a tower at its summit, Les amis de la montagne have accumulated a long list of notable achievements. From governmental legislation to a municipal protection and enhancement plan, Les amis proudly pursue a tradition of engaging the community to make our city a better place to live and work.

Preserving Mount Royal is an on-going endeavour and the organization is actively reaching out to the younger generation to involve them in the future of their mountain. Les amis’ educational offerings, environmental stewardship program and range of interactive tools are just some of the ways in which we reach thousands of young people every year. Our recent entry into the world of social media is an important step in connecting with our leaders of tomorrow.
