INVITATION TO LES AMIS DE LA MONTAGNE'S NEXT PUBLIC FORUM

In the context of Mont Royal’s limited capacity to receive new construction given its status as a protected territory, a critical question remains: can the expansion needs of properties on the mountain be met without having a detrimental effect on this protected site?

Public consultations will be held in June, 2011, concerning a project to expand the Montreal General Hospital (MGH) on the mountain, the second project of its kind to be presented before the Office de consultation publique de Montréal (OCPM). Meanwhile, the Royal Victoria Hospital and the Shriners Hospital for Children will be moving off the mountain in the near future.

Numerous institutional buildings located on the mountain are undergoing change. Choices to be made about their future need to be made in the context of the entire protected territory.
