Enjoy winter’s pleasures in Mont-Royal Park!
Les amis de la montagne, in collaboration with the Ville de Montréal, invite you to enjoy winter’s pleasures in Mont-Royal Park by taking full advantage of the activities this exceptional site located in the heart of our city has to offer.
Hold onto your tuques and come and play outdoors! It’s time to pull out your skates, snowshoes, skis and toboggans, just like many generations of Montrealers before us …
NEW THEMATIC ANIMATION AT MAISON SMITH
The historic charm of Maison Smith is the perfect backdrop for visitors of all ages to take a plunge back in time with Les amis de la montagne and relive the wintertime traditions of the 19th Century, every weekend from January 12 to February 24. Animations, exhibits of historic photos, storytelling, and snowshoe and traditional sash-making workshops are all on the menu.
Nature lovers will take to the trails in search of animal tracks in the forest, guided by Les amis de la montagne’s environmental educators. For solo discoveries, visitors can observe the mountain’s winged wildlife at the bird feeders located along Chemin Olmsted.
GUIDED SNOWSHOE WALKS AT NIGHT
Dare to experience the magic of Les amis de la montagne’s guided snowshoe walks through the forest, illuminated only by the city’s lights and the silvery moon, complete with a rewarding hot chocolate! Don’t miss two special, themed evenings, the first to celebrate the New Year on December 29, featuring snowshoes and bubbly, and the second in honour of Valentine’s Day on February 16, featuring mulled wine and a chocolate truffle.
EQUIPMENT RENTAL: A LITTLE OF EVERYTHING FOR EVERYONE!
Les amis de la montagne’s equipment rental counter is located in the Beaver Lake pavilion and provides a variety of sporting goods to enjoy the great outdoors: skates, snowshoes, cross-country skis, inner-tubes and more.
Until the snow arrives, the artificial skating rink located next to the Beaver Lake pavilion officially opens on December 15. It’s a date!
