A fun night coming up on Saturday at Maison Smith!

Join the traditional Quebecois dance evening featuring the musical group Danse Cadence!

Les amis de la montagne invite you to come and dance to the irresistible rhythms of the group Danse Cadence. Pierre Chartrand will lead a traditional dance evening joined by violonist Richard Forest and guitarist Peter Senn.

Participants will have access to the cozy Café des Amis throughout the evening, for a meal or a beverage.

For the very energetic, start your evening with a guided snowshoe hike at 6:15 p.m. before joining the traditional dance evening.

Guided snowshoe walks "By the light of the city"

Every Saturday night until March 9. An illuminating way to discover the mountain! Follow Les amis' guide along the forest trails. Animation, snowshoes and hot chocolate included. Departure from Maison Smith at 6:15 p.m. Reservations required at 514 843-8240, ext. 0. ($17)

Les amis’ 5@Soupe

Before heading out for a hike or just to take a break, the Café des Amis at Maison Smith offers a special snowshoers’ meal-in-a-soup for a modest price in a warm atmosphere every Saturday, March 9, until 7 p.m.

Exhibition of historical photographs

Discover the fascinating history of winter sports on Mount Royal in a series of illustrations and photographs. Free admission, on the first floor of Maison Smith. Until February 2, Saturdays, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Demonstration of snowshoe making

Les amis de la montagne invite Réjean Boisvert, a member of the Corporation des Vieux Métiers, who will perform a demonstration of traditional snowshoe sinew lacing. Saturday February 2, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Free admission, in the exhibition room.

Mount Royal benefits from a special legal status that aims to ensure the harmonious development of its natural and cultural heritage by promoting the enhancement and conservation of its distinctive elements. How can we put into place the conditions necessary to ensure the preservation of the mountain’s natural spaces while also encouraging greater accessibility to the site?

Join our panel of guests who will share their initiatives and best practices in the preservation of Mount Royal’s natural spaces and to share your thoughts and ideas.
