While the new newsletter is designed to be compatible with the most recent email programs, the website redesign allows direct access to Les amis’ calendar of activities on the mountain from the homepage, better navigation of the site’s menus and easier access to newsletter subscriptions and Les amis’ social media sites.

Launch of winter activities on Mount Royal

LOVE WINTER... ON MOUNT ROYAL!

 

 

 

Les amis de la montagne, in collaboration with the Ville de Montréal, invite you to enjoy your favourite winter sports on Mount Royal, explore the mountain on snowshoes and discover its history while you relive the traditions and carnivals of the past. Enjoy the fresh air and the pleasures of winter in the heart of the city like you would in the country!

 

 

NEW THIS SEASON

 

WINTER TRADITIONS ON MOUNT ROYAL

Maison Smith, built in 1858, will revive its atmosphere of the past during the weekends of January 11 to March 9. Enjoy free family entertainment, take a look at the exhibition of historical photos and immerse yourself in the winter of the 19th Century on Mount Royal. Craftspeople making traditional snowshoes and sashes will be on hand to impart their expertise.

Snowshoeing
On Saturday, January 25, Les amis de la montagne and the YMCA Camp Kanawana will introduce you tothe survival secrets of the First Nations and the coureurs des bois during a guided snowshoe hike in the forest.

Carnivals of the past
On Saturday, March 1 and Sunday, March 2,  participate in snow games, an obstacle course on snowshoes and a masquerade inspired by the carnivals of the past in the company of family or friends.

MARCH BREAK ACTIVITIES

 

 

March Break Day Camp

 

Children 6 to 11 years old have the opportunity to enjoy the many winter outdoor activities offered on Mount Royal during the March 3-7 break . Registration will open on January 6, please visit: themountroyal.qc.ca.

 

 

Snowshoeing on the trail of animal tracks

 

Families can follow our guides on snowshoes searching for animal tracks on the mountain, from March 3 to 9. Hot chocolate and a good time guaranteed!

 

 

          

 

 

 

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!

 

SNOWSHOE EVENINGS – A MUST IN MONTREAL!

 

 

Do something out of the ordinary on a Saturday night by taking a magical snowshoe hike and enjoying a hot chocolate break along the forest trails. Guided hiking tours in English are now available on Friday evenings in January.

 

Do not miss the New Year’s special featuring sparkling wine, on December 28 and 30 and the Valentine’s special featuring mulled wine and a chocolate truffle, on February 14 and 15.

 

 

 

 

 

OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT RENTAL

 

Les amis de la montagne’s rental counter is located on the main floor of the Beaver Lake pavilion and offers all the equipment needed to enjoy winter activities: skates, snowshoes, cross-country skis and more...

 

Lace up those skates! The refrigerated rink adjacent to the Beaver Lake pavilion and the rental counter will be open starting November 30.

CLUB DE SKI DE FOND DES AMIS DE LA MONTAGNE

 

Les amis de la montagne offer cross-country skiing lessons for children and adults. The mountain has 22 km of marked trails to enjoy!
