WHAT'S ON THIS WEEKEND ON MOUNT ROYAL?

The mountain is bursting with vibrant fall foliage. Now is the perfect time to immerse yourself in nature in the heart of the city and be guided by Les amis de la montagne as you discover the built heritage of Mount Royal Park, its history and architects.

The lookout of the Chalet du Mont-Royal overlooks the city and the river, witness of its evolution and key events of our history. Visit the new exhibition "A lookout on history" resulting from a thorough research from Les amis de la montagne through archival photographs and documents.

Also at the Chalet du Mont-Royal, you won’t want to miss the last performance of the season in this spectacular setting, presented by the McGill Choral Society Chamber Choir – it’s free, bring the whole family!

At Maison Smith, artist Mathilde Renaud presents her colourful sketches and canvasses that reveal Mount Royal’s landscapes for this final weekend.

In the field, Les amis’ conservation team welcomes volunteers to help plant trees in Mount Royal Park, the second-to-last weekend of the Environmental Stewardship Program.

GUIDED WALK "THE BUILT HERITAGE OF MOUNT ROYAL PARK"

While familiar to most park visitors, Mount Royal Park’s service buildings and built landscapes have evolved since the creation of the park in 1876. Les amis de la montagne will introduce participants to the park’s wealth of built heritage and its development over time, while addressing some changes still to come. Offered in French.

TEMPORARY EXHIBITION "COULEURS MONT-ROYAL"

Artist Mathilde Renaud presents landscapes of Mount Royal created on the spot. From sketches to canvas, she discovers places on the mountain in finest detail. The spontaneity and rhythm of the lines of her drawings, as well as the interplay of the colour, light and composition of her paintings, creates an ambiance such that her subject becomes palpable.

The complete Calendar of Events is available on Les amis de la montagne’s website at themountroyal.qc.ca. Les amis de la montagne’s activities are organized in collaboration with the Ville de Montréal.
