Students will get an immersive view of Montreal life in the 19th century: the city in winter, its economic and social development, and the role Mount Royal and its location played at the time. Throughout the excursion, students will meet various challenges and learn about the history and evolution of snowshoeing and other winter traditions on the mountain.
Educational competencies: This historical trek will enable students to exercise critical judgment, reflect on the past and share their opinions on important elements of Mount Royal over the years, while practicing a historically significant winter sport for Quebec: snowshoeing.
