Activities for Kids & Families

As friends of the mountain, we believe in getting children outside from an early age so they learn about and appreciate the environment at their own pace. Our forest school activities, day camps and cross-country ski program give kids (and parents) a fresh outlook on Mount Royal!

Guided Discovery Walk: Mount Royal’s Northern Flank

This guided discovery walk shines a new light on a lesser-known summit of Mount Royal by exploring the mountain’s hidden side.

Guided Discovery Walk: Mount Royal’s Northern Flank

Who says that the mountain ends at the edges of Mount Royal Park? Discover the hidden side of the mountain and its institutions through an itinerary that reveals a variety of landscapes, including century-old oak and maple forests, Tiohtià:ke Otsira'kéhne Park, the mountain's cemeteries and a portion of the Université de Montréal campus.

Please note that this discovery walk is an uphill climb that includes some stairs and that it follows a 5 km linear circuit with different starting and arrival points:

  • Starting point: George-Étienne Cartier Monument (Mount Royal Park/Park Ave)
  • Arrival point: Côte-des-Neiges metro station

Rate: $20 per person

Duration: 2 h 30

This activity is offered in French but questions in English are welcome.

To ensure the health and safety of all participants, we have adjusted our activities in light of the current public health recommendations.
