Volunteering: Monitoring the Growth and Survival Rate of Planted Trees and Shrubs

Volunteering: Environmental Stewardship - Saturday, August 13th 2022, 10 a.m., Removal of the Dog-Strangling Vine

Since 1994, Les Amis de la montagne has planted more than 36,000 native trees and shrubs on Mount Royal as part of their Environmental Stewardship Program.  In 2004, a program was initiated to monitor the survival and growth rate of the planted vegetation. These surveys, which are carried out for five consecutive years after planting, provide us with the information we need to improve the effectiveness of our plantations and replace vegetation as needed.
