Guided Excursion: Mount Royal Summit

Smithers, one of Mount Royal’s resident squirrels, has decided to scatter tests and challenges throughout the forest. Only those who successfully meet them will be able to unlock the mountain’s secrets. Explore the mountain through fun activities and games. Who knows, maybe Smithers will reveal all of Mount Royal’s mysteries!

During a walk through the mountain’s iconic areas, students discover the many facets of Mount Royal, including its history, biodiversity and striking views. Activities include interpreting the landscape, learning about the mountain's important place in history and identifying its flora and fauna.

Starting point: Smith House, 1260 Remembrance Road, Montreal, Quebec, H3H 1A2

Level: ages 14 to 17 Duration: Half day (2 h)

Rates: Half day: $12 per youth (minimum $216)

Pedagogical skills: Environment and consumption; societal realities and historical perspectives, the history of Quebec and Canada: characterizing historical periods and interpreting social realities. Generic skills: Exercising critical judgment and using critical thinking skills.
