Montreal, Friday, June 10, 2022 – Today, Ms. Caroline Bourgeois, Vice-Chair of the City of Montreal Executive Committee responsible for large parks, Mount Royal, sports and recreation, Espace pour la vie, Parc Jean-Drapeau and East Montréal, and Mr. Peter A. Howlett, C.M., President of Les Amis de la montagne, had the pleasure of awarding the 2022 Prix du Mont-Royal to Father Claude Grou, C.S.C., during an award ceremony at Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal, in the presence of more than 60 invited guests.

Montreal, Monday, May 30, 2022 - Following the publication of the Office de consultation publique de Montréal (OCPM) report on the repurposing of the former Royal Victoria Hospital, Les Amis de la montagne, Héritage Montréal, the Ordre des urbanistes du Québec (OUQ), the Conseil régional de l’environnement de Montréal (CRE-Montréal) and the Association des architectes paysagistes du Québec (AAPQ) have come out in favour of the 31 recommendations put forward by the commissioners.

Waste management plan for large parks: Les amis de la montagne welcomes recommendations made by standing committee

With over 30 years of experience in environmental education, Les amis de la montagne applies an educational approach that teaches children about the environment while developing their autonomy, stimulating their imagination and promoting physical exercise in the great outdoors. Children can take advantage of these activities starting in March in the Forest School on the Mountain and continue in the summer with the day camp.
