Mount Royal Through the Seasons - Spring and Fall

How does the forest adapt to the changing seasons? Imagining themselves as photographers and equipped with cardboard cameras, students explore Mount Royal and take make-believe pictures of what they find interesting. Through scientists’ eyes, they learn to identify the main characteristics of the unfolding season and the ways in which nature prepares for it. Contact with trees, animals and other elements of the natural environment is encouraged through games and sensory activities.

Starting point: Parking lot at Beaver Lake Pavilion, 2000 Remembrance Road, Montreal, Quebec, H3H 1X2

Level: Preschool and Elementary Cycle 1 (ages 4 to 7)

Duration: Half day (2 h) or full day (4.5 h)

Rates: Half day: $10 per child (minimum $180)

Full day: $18 per child (minimum $324)

Pedagogical skills: Science and technology, land and space and the living world: describe the seasons, the transformation of living things and matter, and the interactions between living organisms and their environment.
