Snowshoe Excursion: The Joy of Winter

During a hike through the mountain’s iconic places, students will discover the many facets of Mount Royal, including its history, biodiversity and striking views.

 

Equipped with snowshoes, students venture into the heart of Mount Royal’s forest to learn about its biodiversity and the ways in which its flora and fauna adapt to winter. On this educational hike interspersed with challenges and games, students discover a forest that is bursting with life, despite the snow. 

 

Starting point: Beaver Lake Pavilion, 2000 Remembrance Road, Montreal, QC H3H 1X2

Level: Secondary (ages 12 to 17)

Duration: Half day (2 h)

Rates: Half day:  $14.50 per child (minimum $261) (rate includes snowshoe rental)

Pedagogical skills: Emphasis is placed on the biodiversity of an urban forest.
