It was entirely natural for Les Amis de la montagne to accept the invitation to participate in the 90th annual Acfas conference. In addition to our proximity to the campus of Université de Montréal, where the conference is being held, and our ongoing collaboration with the university, Les Amis shares with Acfas a common desire to pass our knowledge on with a view to encouraging people to care for and protect the Mount Royal Heritage Site. It is in this context that Éric Richard, Scientific Advisor and seasoned veteran of Les Amis de la montagne, agreed to work with Acfas to organize and take part in five activities scheduled as part of the conference. Some of our conservation patrollers will also be in attendance. Consult the list below for information about the activities being offered to the general public, as well as a symposium reserved for conference delegates. Note that the conference and activities are held in French only.

For delegates only…
Though reserved for delegates, the symposium being held on May 8 and 9 as part of the conference will highlight Les Amis de la montagne’s expertise and help make our organization more widely known throughout the Francophonie. Entitled 24 - Les processus de recherche collaborative en éducation relative à l’environnement : creusets de transition socioécologique, the symposium is the fruit of the cooperative effort undertaken by Les Amis de la montagne and UQAM’s Centre de recherche sur l'éducation et la formation relative à l'environnement et l'écocitoyenneté (Centr’ERE).
Happy Anniversary, Acfas!
