In the pursuit of our mission to protect and improve Mount Royal, Les amis de la montagne maintains productive and inspiring relations with a broad network of organizations. Together, we maintain an open dialogue about the preservation, development and use of Mount Royal and its public spaces, thereby allowing Les amis de la montagne to better represent the interests of the mountain while contributing to the advancement of knowledge in environmental and heritage protection.

As an independent non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing Mount Royal, Les amis de la montagne draws its strength from the collective desire to safeguard the mountain. We focus our efforts on encouraging enlightened decision-making in favour of the responsible governance of the mountain as a whole.

We also enjoy a long-standing special partnership with the City of Montréal relative to the key role we play in Mount Royal Park. Our agreement governs the following services:
  • Educational services and environmental awareness
  • Planting projects, clearing of invasive species and other environmental monitoring with the help of volunteers
  • Mount Royal heritage interpretive services
  • Smith House welcome centre services
  • Conservation Patrol
  • Outdoor recreational activities
  • Other visitor services, including food services
We also share our knowledge of the mountain with the City in an advisory capacity as pertains to the business of managing, developing and maintaining Mount Royal Park.
