Snowshoe Excursion: In the Footsteps of Snowshoers' Past

How does the forest adapt to the changing seasons? Imagining themselves as photographers and equipped with cardboard cameras, students explore Mount Royal and "take pictures" of what they find interesting.

Students will get an immersive view of Montreal life in the 19th century: the city in winter, its economic and social development, and the role Mount Royal and its location played at the time. Throughout the excursion, students will meet various challenges and learn about the history and evolution of snowshoeing and other winter traditions on the mountain.
