Les amis de la montagne benefits from the help of hundreds of dedicated volunteers involved in projects protecting and enhancing Mount Royal. Every year, Les amis, in collaboration with Manulife, salutes this effort by recognizing one person’s outstanding service.
In the past few years, recreational snowshoeing has grown in popularity throughout the province, including on Mount Royal! The peace and quiet of the forest, the wonderful views of the city, and the grade of the slopes which provide the occasional challenge even for the more athletic, make our mountain an ideal place for snowshoers.
Les amis de la montagne is thrilled with Mount Royal’s application to be considered for inclusion on Canada’s Tentative List for World Heritage Sites. This is the first step towards Mount Royal’s possible recognition as UNESCO World Heritage Site.
