Montréal, June 17, 2019 – Under glorious blue skies, close to 400 guests attended Les amis de la montagne’s benefit luncheon Chapeau Mont Royal! last June 12. The 6th edition of this elegant event was chaired by Édith Cloutier, President of Rogers Quebec, and supported by a host of key partners. Thanks to the generous support of Montrealers and the profits of a silent auction, this year's event raised $200,000 for youth educational programs on Mount Royal.

Held in the majestic Mount Royal Chalet and featuring a gourmet meal prepared by Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, the event draws its inspiration from the prestigious Frederick Law Olmsted Awards Luncheon, a highly regarded NYC event organized by the Women’s Committee of Central Park Conservancy. Every year, this signature event showcases the talent of local hat designers whose creations were worn by numerous guests. The 2019 edition shone the spotlight on the environmental educational programs funded by Chapeau Mont Royal! Students from Notre-Dame-des-Neiges elementary school held a booth presenting the year-long project they carried out on Mount Royal. Adding a festive note to the event, a jazz band composed of Grade 9 students from Collège Sainte-Anne provided live musical entertainment throughout the cocktail party.
