Spend Spring Break with Les Amis de la montagne!

Here are our suggestions for a great spring break week with your family or friends!

  • Family activities:*

  • New activities!

    • Story Time at the Chalet, March 4 - Lose yourself in the adventures of the characters in storyteller Guy Duchesne’s imaginary village. Free admission!

    • Discover Winter with your Tiny Tots, March 5 - Come play outdoors with your 0-to-5-year-olds! Take in the fresh air and discover some of the simple activities you can enjoy with your little ones any time!

    • Information Kiosk: Paroles de paysages, Saturday and Sunday afternoons - Learn about the mountain’s natural and cultural heritage at our information kiosk at the Mount Royal Chalet! Note that kiosk hours are subject to change and that the kiosk will be closed in case of bad weather. This activity is free!

  • Outdoor recreation equipment rentals:

    • Did you know that, thanks to an agreement with the City, cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals are free for young people aged 17 and under who live on the Island of Montreal? That’s right, now there’s no excuse not to get your kids into those winter sports! But take note, you’ll need to accompany them to take advantage of the free rental. We also have equipment for adults, if the kids are the old hands and you’re the newbies!

    • Les Amis also rents skates and snow tubes for sliding.

    • Visit our website for information about our schedules and rates.

  • Full program: Visit the "Public Programming" section of our website to find out about all our activities, including other guided discovery walks, exhibitions and cultural activities.

  • Free activities:

    • If you happen to be blessed with a flexible work schedule, why not take a break on the mountain during the week? That way, you can enjoy the snowshoeing and cross-country ski trails, refrigerated skating rink and snow tubing lanes without having to deal with crowds or lineups. Need a bit of fresh air and exercise? An hour in the morning, at lunchtime or after work, and Bob’s your uncle!

If you’re feeling a bit peckish, we’ve got you covered! Our three Cafés des Amis at the Beaver Lake Pavilion, Smith House and the Mount Royal Chalet are open 7 days a week! And don’t forget to visit the gift shop at the Visitors Centre, where you’ll find tissues, mittens, tuques and plenty of other items to help you enjoy your time on the mountain. A word to the wise, though: visit our website to check conditions on the mountain before heading out. A difference of just a few degrees between the foot and the summit can make a world of difference!

* Our activities are offered in French, but your questions in English are welcome.
