Mission Monarch

The activity involves spotting Monarch butterflies on milkweed plants at various stages of development.
Mission Monarch

As part of the International Monarch Monitoring Blitz to take place from July 26 to August 3, 2025, Les Amis de la montagne will be adding their efforts to those deployed in Quebec by the Espace pour la Vie (Space for Life) Insectarium and across North America to ensure the protection and conservation of the monarch butterfly. The purpose of this citizen science project is to document the monarch’s reproductive and migratory success.
As a volunteer, you will be recording the presence of monarchs on milkweed plants and identifying their various stages of development. The activity allows participants to contribute to a large-scale project aimed at saving this threatened species.
