Come enjoy an acoustic concert by the group Kavaz, at the Mount Royal Chalet!

Traditional Music Concert at the Chalet

On Saturday, February 11, come enjoy an acoustic concert by the group Kavaz, who will fill the main hall of the Chalet with the time-honoured lilts and cadences of traditional music for your listening pleasure.

Kavaz, a new Celtic trio formed last fall, is made up of Isaac Beaudet-Lefebvre on fiddle, Everest Witman on guitar and François-Xavier Dueymes on flute, tin whistle and uilleann pipes (Irish bagpipes). While three share a love of Irish music, their tunes also incorporate elements from their respective places of origin: Quebec, Vermont and Brittany. The name “Kavaz,” which is borrowed from a Breton word meaning “junction” or “fork,” symbolizes the meeting of the three musical styles.

Date: February 11, 2023
Time: 2 p.m.
Duration: Approximately one hour
Location: Main hall of the Mount Royal Chalet (1196 Camillien-Houde Way)
Cost: The event is free and open to all.

Please note that this is an acoustic concert; there will be no amplifiers and no chairs will be provided.

Plan to arrive a few minutes before the start of the concert and don’t hesitate to order a hot beverage at the Café des Amis and enjoy the beautiful view from the Kondiaronk Belvedere.

The activity is part of the Paroles de paysages program, spearheaded by Les Amis de la montagne with the support of the City of Montréal and Quebec’s Ministère de la Culture et des Communications.
